MFS appoints new CIO

MFS Investment Management has appointed Alison O’Neill as its chief investment officer, overseeing a 300-person investment team across equity, fixed income, quantitative solutions and global trading teams. 

O’Neill will begin her role on 1 January 2025, and the current CIO Edward M. Maloney will become the CEO at the same time.  

O’Neill joined MFS in 2005 as an equity research analyst, was named director of research for North America in 2016, added a diversified portfolio management role in 2018 and was named co-CIO of equity in 2020.
