REST Super appoints general counsel

REST has named Duncan Whiteside as its general counsel, who joins from MetLife Australia.  

Whiteside will step into the role in December 2024 and report to Tyrone O’Neill, chief strategy and corporate affairs officer. 

Whiteside worked at MetLife since 2017 and was most recently as the insurer’s general counsel and head of legal from March 2021.  

Prior to this, he was senior corporate counsel at TAL Australia from 2013 to 2017. 

He has also worked for law firms Blake Dawson (now Ashurst Australia) in Australia and Norton Rose Fulbright in the UK.
