Franklin Templeton launches its first alternatives fund

Investment manager Franklin Templeton has launched the Franklin K2 Athena Fund, its first alternatives fund.

It invests in predominantly uncorrelated risk premia strategies across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and currencies.

The fund has already received a ‘Superior’ rating from SQM Research, which noted its market-neutral orientation that makes it suitable for defensive purposes. SQM also commended the fund’s thorough investment process.
