Retirement policy research report to be released in Sydney on Tuesday

CEDA will launch its latest research report, The super challenge of retirement income policy, in Sydney on Tuesday, September 1.

Australia’s retirement income system is facing two key challenges, decreasing housing affordability, which will mean more people will retire without owning their home, and an ageing population.

This research report reviews options for retirement policy in Australia including removing tax concessions and improving home ownership rates in recognition of its importance in ensuring a decent living standard in retirement.

The report will be available to download from the CEDA website on Tuesday. For more information click here.

The Greens secured an amendment to the government’s tax changes proposed in the May federal budget that would end the use of limited recourse borrowing arrangements for residential property.
