ASIC has had a success rate of 95 per cent in its civil and criminal prosecutions conducted in the first half of 2024 calendar year, securing $32.2 million in civil penalties and nine criminal convictions.

In an enforcement report released by the regulator on Monday morning, the market watchdog said it also launched 63 new investigations, commenced 12 new civil proceedings and completed 550 surveillances throughout the period.

In the coming months, ASIC will announce the results of its surveillance into how super funds are handling death benefits claims and continue its greenwashing crackdown.
