The Guardians of NZ Superannuation, the crown entity that manages the $65 billion NZ Super Fund, has named Paula Steed as acting CEO, moving from her current role as general manager of strategy and shared services.
Steed will oversee the fund as it searches for a replacement for outgoing chief executive Matt Whineray, who resigned earlier this year and will leave the Guardians on 8 December.
She joined the Guardians in 2021 from ASB Bank, where she was the chief internal auditor.
A permanent chief executive appointment is expected to be made this year.
