Antipodes Partners has taken out the honour of Fund Manager of the Year at the Professional Planner | Zenith Fund Awards.
Antipodes also won the two international equities categories (global and long short). The other finalists for Fund Manager of the Year were Macquarie Investment Management and Perpetual Investment Management.
The Zenith judges praised Antipodes’ ability to attract funds under management since its 2015 launch and said its strong returns in both its long-only and long-short strategies made it a worthy recipient.
The winners in 19 categories were revealed to a record 350 attendees today at a luncheon at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney.
The other top award, Distributor of the Year, was awarded to Pinnacle Investment Partners.
The annual awards recognise excellence in funds management, as judged by Zenith’s robust methodology, which examines each manager’s investment philosophy, the expertise of the investment team and the performance over 12 months, Zenith Investment Partners managing partner David Wright explained.
Wright said it was particularly difficult for active managers to outperform this year, due to historically low volatility, and the winners had done exceptionally well.
