The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has today announced Bronnie Abraham
of Brisbane-based advice firm Dolfinwise as the latest winner of the Gwen Fletcher Memorial
Award.
Ms Abraham, who has been advising for over seven years, received the accolade for being the
highest performing student in the final unit of the CFP® Certification Program. Named after the
late “First lady of Financial Planning,” the award recognises ongoing commitment to the
program and dedication to providing quality financial advice.
Commenting on her achievement, Ms Abraham said: “This award means a lot to me. Not only is
it an honour to receive this award in memorial of Gwen Fletcher, who was such an inspiration
and a pioneer for the industry, but it also means a lot to receive recognition for my hard work.
”I know the high level of people completing this program, so to be one of the few who has
received this award has given me so much confidence in my abilities and it’s a huge
achievement.”
Dante De Gori CFP®, CEO of the FPA, congratulated Ms Abraham on her win: “The CFP®
Certification Assessment unit is designed to put your expertise through rigorous testing, so to
receive the Gwen Fletcher Memorial Award is a major achievement.
“Bronnie’s outstanding results are a testament to her commitment and dedication. I congratulate
her efforts and look forward to welcoming her into our growing CFP® professional community.”
Ms Abraham concluded by saying that she sees a bright future for women in financial planning.
“I was told that I am the fifth woman out of a total of seven winners of this award, which I’m
hugely proud of, and I’m sure Gwen would be as well. To me, this shows the shift that is
happening in the industry and I’m really excited about that. I think women naturally have abilities
to be great financial advisers and I think we will see a lot more women excelling in the industry.”
The CFP® designation is the only financial planning designation that is recognised globally,
ensuring financial planners adhere to world class professional and ethical standards.
Enrolments for Semester 2 of the CFP® Certification Program close on Wednesday 5 July. For
