Centrepoint Alliance has launched its own charitable foundation, the Centrepoint Alliance Foundation, leveraging the combined resources of the Centrepoint community to provide support for people in need.
The Centrepoint Alliance Foundation has been established to provide funding and assistance to disadvantaged people, to help them access medical, healthcare, education and other assistance as required.
Managing Director of Centrepoint Alliance, John de Zwart, said the motivation for establishing a foundation was two-fold – giving back to Australian communities and in a way that engages with staff, advisers, and licensees.
“Community initiatives at our annual conference have always been one of the most talked about activities”, said Mr de Zwart,” Centrepoint advisers and licensees really value the opportunity and experience of helping others.”
At its last two conferences, Centrepoint raised over $100,000 to support several disadvantaged groups, including a Thai orphanage, a Fijian infant and primary school, and youth cancer charity, CanTeen.
“We felt establishing the Centrepoint Foundation was a good way to build on these achievements and to bring advisers together to have a bigger impact in supporting people in need,” said Mr de Zwart. “We also want Centrepoint advisers and licensees to engage with each other, to share rewarding experiences and build lifelong friendships.
“The foundation will provide a framework for Centrepoint advisers and licensees to work with each other as well as work with their own staff and their own client networks in order to raise funds via our charity partners.” The foundation’s first partnership is with beyondblue, Australia’s leading independent organisation which works to raise awareness of depression, anxiety and suicide prevention.
Mr de Zwart said, “Centrepoint is excited to be partnered with a respected charity organisation that promotes positive mental health and suicide prevention.
“We are pleased to support beyondblue’s work, knowing this organisation makes a positive difference to so many.”
