Crowd-sourced online review platform Adviser Ratings has introduced a five-star
Google ratings addition to Google search results listings of individual financial advisers, transforming
the way consumers search for and find financial advice.
As the first of its kind in Australia, aggregated reviews of financial advisers on the Adviser Ratings
platform will appear in Google search listings for advisers, giving consumers instant access to
independent, user-generated opinions.
Google star ratings listings in search results must be approved by Google, and Adviser Ratings is the
first review platform to be approved by Google, specifically for financial advisers in Australia.
Adviser Ratings Managing Director, Angus Woods, said the new user experience – similar to
TripAdvisor – will take the independent, consumer ratings and review service to the next level,
providing a mutually-beneficial arrangement for both industry professionals and consumers.
“Financial advisers will have increased visibility of their achievements and a sizeable increase in
clickthrough rates to their individual profiles. Research consistently indicates that more than 80 per
cent of people trust online reviews as much as a recommendation through friends or family,” said Mr
Woods.
“For advice-seekers, Google star ratings will cut down the time spent on researching potential
financial advisers and allow people to quickly compare and make a confident, informed decision,” Mr
Woods added.
The new system is the latest initiative from Adviser Ratings to rebuild trust and confidence in the
advice industry by providing easily accessible, crowd-sourced financial acumen from thousands of
consumers.
The ratings listings have begun appearing, and the process will be completed over the coming
months.
