Brisbane based Anthem Risk Management (Anthem) started the New Year with a new logo, marketing profile and by joining risk specialist dealer group Bombora Advice and the goals and aspirations of founder and principal, David Murphy are being realised both for the business and his clients.
David Murphy is a long standing industry and advice professional with over 36 years of experience. He commenced his career in Newcastle before moving to Atlanta, Georgia USA in 1990 where he worked with high net worth individuals and business owners.
After nearly 16 years in America, David returned to Australia and in July 2007 established Anthem Risk Management in the Brisbane suburb of Toowong.
Reflecting on the year to date and months ahead, David says it will be a momentous year for advisers as they deal with FoFA and LIF whilst accountants address the expiration of the SMSF advice exemption on July 1.
“In this environment of change, financial advice and accountant principals are future proofing their businesses through specialisation and mutually beneficial commercial alliances. These will be the keys to business success for professional advice practices in the future”, said David Murphy.
Since its inception, the majority of Anthem’s new business has come from accounting practices that call upon David’s extensive expertise and insight to address a myriad of insurance risk protection needs of their SME and professionals clients.
David Murphy continued, “I take great pride in my reputation as a risk specialist and for being called up by a growing number of accounting practices to provide their clients with professional guidance and options to address their personal and business protection, survivorship, intergenerational wealth transfer and succession objectives”.
“There is nothing more gratifying than a referral from a satisfied accountant client to another accounting group”.
Commenting on joining leading risk specialist licensee Bombora Advice David said there were many factors that influenced his decision. “Bombora is a unique collective of highly respected risk advice businesses and a framework that encourages a collegiate sharing of knowledge, experiences and expertise”.
Bombora founder Wayne Handley said he was especially pleased that David had joined the group, his commitment to continuous personal growth and to the broader professional made him an ideal cultural fit.
Although 2016 will be a momentous year for Anthem, David Murphy affirmed that from its inception, Anthem has been structured to reflect his personal values and goals and to ensure clients always receive the very highest standards of advice, service, attention and care – these are steadfast and remain unchanged.
