Libertas Financial Planning has today launched an ‘accountants’ licensing package’ aimed at attracting experienced SMSF accounting specialists to the network.

Director, Mark Euvrard said that the Libertas offer will appeal to many accountants looking for an independently owned and non-aligned licensee with no product ties.

He stated the offering has been developed for SMSF accountants. “What’s unique about us is that we’re established in the advice market but we also understand accountants. Specialist SMSF accountants are looking for a seamless transition to the new licensing regime, while they continue to do what they have been doing to date in a compliant manner.

“Our package includes customised software which guides the adviser through the compliance process and generates Statements of Advice (SOA) for their clients. Many accountants would not be familiar with this type of software – user friendly and designed for accountants.”

“As an added feature, the software also contains a suite of client letter templates to use for unlicensed accounting work when providing tax and compliance advice,” he said.

He added that Libertas are strong advocates of advice and strategy over product distribution.

“We’re not seeking to attract hundreds of accountants to the banner. We’re selective and accountants should be too. Large complex practices probably won’t fit our model. However, sole or small specialist practices with a similar cultural and philosophical fit, will feel at home with us.”

Mr Euvrard, a Financial Planning Specialist Chartered Accountant, said he has meticulously built up the licensee, with 60 authorised representatives currently under the banner.

“We’re excited to bring like-minded accountants on board and come 30 June, we expect our accountants to transition with minimum fuss, maximum compliance and with minimal disruption to their business,” he said.

To obtain the Libertas accountant authority, education partners Kaplan are in place to assist with RG146 compliance and discounts and options are available for those who haven’t completed the financial planning, superannuation and SMSF units.
