Australia’s leading non-institutional licensee Synchron is introducing a new format to its annual conference dedicating a day each to the global, national and micro view of advice.

To be held from 9-13th May in Hong Kong, Synchron director Don Trapnell says the new format is a reflection of the different spheres advice influences, both big and small.

“Advice is one of those professions where it is a unique mix of intense client relationships while having the power to create real social change, so we wanted to really highlight and explore this with our practitioners.”

Given advisers operate in a more interconnected world and global economy, Synchron is looking to encourage practitioners to step outside their box, their view of the world, and take a look from a macro and micro perspective.

“Working in the advice industry is challenging and prone to many changes that requires advisers to be on top of their game all of the time,” says Trapnell. “Our conference program will encourage advisers to step back, and take a look with fresh eyes, and hopefully realise some opportunities.”

This year’s keynote speaker is Amanda Gore, an international communications and performance expert who encourages business people to step away from over analysis and get in touch with feeling which she believes, is the real driver in most of our decisions and choices. Amanda is also CEO of the Joy Project, which provides tools and information to help build a global community based on joy not fear.

Day four of the conference will feature insurance case studies and chaired by a number of experts. Here advisers can see before their eyes, the different views of an insurer, a lawyer, and a consumer play out rather than simply being the adviser in a case for a client.
