Martin Currie, the specialist active equity manager, has bolstered its Sales, Marketing, and Client Services team in Australia with the hire of a new regional Marketing Manager from AllianceBernstein (AB), and a Client Service and Sales Support manager from Perennial Investment Partners.

Carly Bode, CFA joins the fund manager as Marketing Manager, and Phil Richter joins in the role of Client Service Sales Support. Both will be based in Melbourne, alongside the investment team.

Bode will be focused on the development and implementation of the marketing strategy for the Martin Currie Australia product range, working closely with Reece Birtles, Chief Investment Officer at Martin Currie Australia and his investment team.  Bode has more than 8 years’ experience in marketing, and joins Martin Currie from AB where she worked in their Australian and Tokyo offices in various marketing and consultant relations roles.

Richter joins from Perennial Investment Partners where he spent four years as Client Service Manager. He also has valuable operational experience that he cultivated previously at NAB Asset Servicing. In his new role his main focus will be on servicing the institutional client base in Australia and Asia, and he will work closely with Kimon Kouryialas, Head of Pan Asia to promote Martin Currie’s Australian and Global investment capabilities to institutional clients.

Commenting on the appointment, Kimon Kouryialas, Head of Pan Asia said: “We have an enormous opportunity to build our business in Australia and across Asia. The addition of these new dedicated sales and marketing resources for the region reflects this potential, and we are delighted to have added two new hires of the calibre of Carly and Phil.”

To further bolster the team, early in 2016 Kouryialas will relocate back to Melbourne from Martin Currie’s Singapore office and continue to drive Pan Asian Institutional sales, marketing and client service activities from there.
