Zurich Financial Services Australia (Zurich) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Margaret (Mags) De Almeida to the newly created role of Head of Operational Excellence within its Life and Investments business. Ms. De Almeida will provide key support to Zurich’s operations teams, including Client Services, Underwriting, Claims, and Operations, to achieve operational effectiveness and maintain Zurich’s culture of continuous improvement and service excellence.
According to Chief Operating Officer for Zurich Life and Investments, Mr. Phil Anderson, Ms. De Almeida’s newly created role will be pivotal in Zurich’s strategic priority to ‘be the best’.
“Mags comes to Zurich with a wealth of experience in business change, relationship management and delivering best practice customer service”, said Mr. Anderson.
“These are all extremely valuable attributes as we look to support the business in achieving Zurich’s current and future growth targets.”
Ms. De Almeida will also be responsible for heading up the analysis of client insights to deliver greater improvements in customer care, as well as assisting the operations team to more effectively measure and track service and efficiency improvements in Zurich’s core insurance processes.

Mags will be a crucial support in helping drive these key priorities. We are extremely pleased to welcome her on board,” said Mr. Anderson.
Ms. De Almeida has joined the Zurich Life and Investments team with over 20 years of experience in the Insurance and Superannuation industry across South Africa, the UK and Australia. Her previous roles include Manager of New Business, Insurance and Account Managers responsible for corporate clients at MLC.
Immediately prior to joining Zurich, Ms. De Almeida held the role of Business Manager at NobleOak Life for two years, working with the CEO and Board in delivering the company’s strategy and vision by implementing best practice customer service to all members.
Ms. De Almeida holds an Associate’s Degree in Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services from the University of Cape Town.
