With clients increasingly demanding a broader financial service offering, Australian accounting firms will learn how to differentiate and revive their practice at a series of free events in August.
It comes as traditional accounting practices face increased competition from new entities providing both accounting and financial planning services.
The event will feature a Spotlight Session on: How and Why to Differentiate your Accountancy Practice and is being presented by AMMA Private Equity in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
AMMA Private Equity CEO Paul Jansz said there were a number of new strategies accounting firms could adopt to protect their practice.
“To remain viable, it’s clear that Australian practices need to diversify from traditional services, such as tax, and provide additional and complimentary services that will provide real value to their clients and give them a point of difference from their competitors,” he said.
“While some accountants may merge with financial planners to provide the full financial service to their clients, for others in the industry this approach may not be the best. Many accountants are keen to retain their independence and bolster the practice they have worked hard to build.
Mr Jansz said providing clients with access to some of the world’s most exciting pre-IPO investments and adding a private equity brand to their existing service offering were just some of the ways accountancy firms could differentiate.
“It’s important for accountants to know that there are other options and partners that allow them to remain competitive and provide a wider range of services to their clients, without compromising their business,” he said.
“Many accountants have told us that their practice is at the cross-roads. This seminar aims to shed light on the some of the paths that can help them build their practice in the future and realise their value proposition.”
