The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has launched the 2015 AFA National Adviser Conference (the AFA Adviser Conference), with the theme: Connecting knowledge with performance.

General Manager, Member Services & Campus AFA, Nick Hakes, said at such an important inflection point for the whole industry, the conference program is centred on professional best practice, blending exceptional technical content with practical application. “Expert technical knowledge and skills are important, but what is also crucial is how it is built into client communication, business practices and engagement with the broader community,” he said.

“The AFA is well known for its collaborative and engaged culture, something most advisers value when making the choice to join a professional association. The AFA Adviser Conference offers countless opportunities for all advisers to expand their knowledge in their own areas of expertise and to network by connecting with market leaders, other practitioners and innovators.”

Mr Hakes said adviser feedback from past AFA Adviser Conferences indicates nothing beats peer-to-peer learning. “Advisers keep attending the AFA Adviser Conference as it is the best place for combining big-picture thinking around industry expectations, disruption and change with peer-to-peer collaboration,” he said. “Everyone’s business is different, so taking learnings from multiple people doing great things is one of the best ways advisers can improve their value to clients.”

The AFA Adviser Conference curriculum is built on the AFA’s learning pillars of adviser performance, business performance, quality advice strategies and professionalism and leadership, and showcases the best of the best with five AFA Awards. “Both the plenary and focus sessions engage practitioners by taking business success stories and connecting them with opportunities for the financial advice market, and also comparing them to success stories within other industries,” Mr Hakes said.

Conference Co-Chair and Vice President of the AFA, Jenny Brown, said the AFA Adviser Conference is built on feedback and recommendations from members and partners. “Feedback and requests from our community are what makes the AFA Adviser Conference a preeminent event on the industry calendar,” Ms Brown said. “From an adviser’s perspective, hearing adviser success stories from across the marketplace provides inspiration to redefine their advice offer. The AFA culture is something every adviser should experience.”

The AFA National Adviser Conference program will be publicly released in late June. Early Bird registration closes on 7 August 2015. To register or find out more, please visit: http://www.afaconference.com.au/.
