Crowe Horwath Western Australia has announced the appointment of Mervyn Kitay as its new Chief Executive, following the retirement of Geoff Kidd. Mr Kidd has served 41 years with the firm, 19 of the past as Managing Partner/Chief Executive.
Mr Kitay paid tribute to Geoff Kidd for his remarkable service to the firm and the industry.
“Geoff has been an outstanding leader and will be missed by colleagues and clients alike,”Mr Kitay said.
Mr Kitay said his focus will be to build on Geoff Kidd’s legacy and further increase the service offering to Crowe Horwath’s strong base of SME clients and family owned businesses – an area where Crowe Horwath has an unassailable position in market.
“Our existing level of client satisfaction is amongst the highest in the Crowe Horwath group, Australia’s fifth largest accounting practice. With more than 100 offices nationally, these results highlight Mr Kidd’s lasting impact on the firm’s performance, particularly in relation to the client service experience.
“It’s a position we intend to maintain. We are targeting M&A, Risk and Advisory as the key growth areas in the immediate term,” he said.
Mr Kitay’s appointment as Chief Executive is effective from April 1.
Mervyn Kitay joined the iconic Hendry Rae and Court practice in 1990 in the area of corporate Recovery and Restructuring and brings over 25 years experience working across a broad spectrum of advisory roles. He will continue to oversee the Restructuring practice, citing a strong demand in this area.
The recent appointment of a new Head of Corporate Finance, Mr Justin Audcent will also add greater depth to the firm’s expertise in this area.
Crowe Horwath was recently privatised and is now part of the Findex Group, a leading Australian company specialising in financial services.
