Financial Planning Standards Board Ltd. (FPSB), owner of the international Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification program outside the U.S., named Nancy Kistner, CFP, to its Board of Directors for a four-year term beginning on 01 April 2015. Kistner is currently Managing Director and Wealth Planning Solutions Market Director at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management, where she and her team of wealth strategists work with clients in addressing a wide range of financial, trust and estate and tax planning issues.

She has shared her expertise and knowledge to benefit the community by serving on many finance and education-based boards. She served as chairwoman of the CFP Board’s Board of Directors and is currently chairwoman of the CFP Board’s WIN Council, which supports and advises the CFP Board in its efforts to increase the number of women entering the financial planning profession, including the number of women CFP professionals.

“I am pleased that Nancy will be joining the FPSB Board of Directors. Her knowledge and leadership of the financial planning profession in the U.S. will complement the perspectives and experiences of our existing Board members,” said Steve Helmich, FPSB Board chairperson. “Nancy understands the importance of establishing global standards for our young profession, is passionate about educating consumers about the benefits of financial planning, and has proven herself to be a thoughtful leader in the U.S. profession who will assist FPSB in achieving its vision of establishing financial planning as a global profession for the benefit of the public.”

“I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve the financial planning profession globally,” said Kistner. “The profession of financial planning has given me so much, and I am honored to be able to continue to give back by serving on the FPSB Board of Directors. On a daily basis, I see first-hand how a CFP professional can make a difference in consumers’ lives, and I’m excited to be able to continue to advocate for the CFP certification and the financial planning profession at the global level.”
