Suncorp Life has appointed Andrew Mair to the role EGM, Distribution and will report to Suncorp Life’s CEO Geoff Summerhayes.
Andrew will be responsible for leading the distribution functions of Suncorp Life through its advice businesses, Asteron Life and its direct business.
“For the last five years, Andrew has held the role of EGM Commercial Insurance (CI) Distribution, responsible for Suncorp CI’s intermediated businesses and he has a deep experience across the Group’s portfolio of brands,” Mr Summerhayes said.
“The life industry is facing challenging conditions which require fundamental changes from the industry players. Suncorp Life is committed to long-term improvements to its customer and adviser offering to improve sustainability and Andrew is a key appointment to help us navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.
“Andrew has exceptional leadership skills in managing through significant industry change, with particular skills in building successful partnerships with brokers. We are fortunate to welcome Andrew to our Life business and he will be an invaluable asset in our focus to driving sustainable advice partnerships.”
Andrew has been with the Group for over six years and prior to joining, he was with Zurich Insurance for 20 years.

A key enabler of this culture is the development of talent and encouraging career opportunities across the Group. Andrew’s appointment is part of a number of changes to EGM roles across the Group.
The appointment takes effect on 9 March 2015.
