Diversified financial services company Spring FG Limited (Spring FG or the Company) today announced that non-executive director, Mr. Guy Hedley, has accepted appointment as the Company’s chairman.
Mr. Hedley has a strong track record of success as a corporate executive in financial services. He was the founder and (for more than 10 years) head of Macquarie Private Bank in Australia and Asia and an executive director at Macquarie Group from 2002 to 2012.
Spring FG managing director, Keith Cullen said, “Under Guy’s management, Macquarie Private Bank established itself as the leading private bank in the country. We are delighted that he has accepted the role of chairman; he brings energy, drive and commitment to the board along with more than 25 years experience in the wealth creation and wealth management sectors in both a private and public company environments”.
Mr. Hedley said, “Through organic growth and recent acquisitions Keith and his team have already achieved great results with Spring’s fresh approach to financial services. A key factor in this approach to wealth creation and management is Spring’s holistic view across a range of asset classes, including residential investment property.”
“On conservative estimates Australian residential investment property represents a $1 trillion investment market that more than 1.75 million Australians are already directly invested in. Ultimately property represents most Australian private investors’ most significant investment, yet it seems that too many wealth advisory firms appear to overlook this critical asset class altogether”, said Mr. Hedley.
“I’m delighted to have accepted the role of chairman of Spring FG and look forward to helping steer the Company as it pursues its further growth and acquisition strategies”, he added.
In addition to his role as non-executive director (and chairman) with Spring Financial Group, Mr. Hedley is now the executive chairman of Atlas Advisers Australia as well as being an Advisory Board Member at China House. He is also on the board of the Sydney Writers Festival where he is chairman of its Finance Committee. He holds an MBA (Exec.) from Australian Graduate School of Management and is a Master Stockbroker (SAA).
