Class Super (Class) has announced the appointment of Panos Alexandratos as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), adding even more expertise and experience to the management team.
More than 50,000 funds are now administered using Class Super, which is the nation’s leading cloud-based SMSF software solution.
Mr Alexandratos was previously General Manager of Solutions and IP at the IQ Group, a leading provider of consulting and technology services to superannuation funds and financial institutions.
He takes on the COO position vacated by Kevin Bungard, who was appointed Class CEO in April 2014.
“Panos has a long and highly successful track record in superannuation,” says Mr Bungard. “Having previously worked with Panos at the IQ Group, I’ve experienced first-hand his tremendous business acumen and operations management expertise. We’re excited to have Panos join us as a key member of the Class leadership team. He will be instrumental in helping us drive the business to the next 50,000 funds and our planned IPO.”
The appointment completes the Class leadership team, as the company continues on a high-growth path to an Initial Public Offering after the 2014–2015 financial year.
In his new role, Mr Alexandratos will be responsible for the day-to-day management of core business operations, service delivery and support for the company’s rapidly expanding user base.
His experience in delivering technology to large industry and retail super providers will add further depth to Class Super’s proven ability to deliver enterprise-grade cloud-based solutions to the highly fragmented SMSF sector.

He led the establishment of IQ Group’s successful practices in Australia and the US, and held a number of management positions at the consultancy. Mr Alexandratos has been a trusted adviser for government departments and large institutions in the superannuation industry in both countries.
He specialises in product development and commercialisation of financial services solutions, as well as building operational frameworks and software solutions. One of his key skills is bridging the gap between business aspirations and IT capability.
