YBR launches “Ask My Advice” day to give Australians better access to quality financial advice

Yellow Brick Road Wealth Management (ASX:YBR) has announced the launch of the company’s first “Ask My Advice” Day, a community initiative that encourages local residents to visit a Yellow Brick Road branch to ask their mortgage, superannuation, insurance, retirement and savings questions. Yellow Brick Road’s “Ask My Advice” Day will take place nationwide in branches on Saturday 3rd May 2014.

In a questionnaire sent to consumers aged 30-49 in major cities across Australia, nearly half of respondents said the reason they don’t talk to a professional about their financial affairs is because they found the process to be too complex and they didn’t have the confidence to have a conversation about their finances. With misconceptions such as these preventing hard working Australians from getting advice, the company has decided to break down these barriers and open their local branch doors to anyone who wants to take a step towards improving their financial situation.

With “Ask My Advice” Day, consumers are able to make an appointment to discuss anything from household budgeting to setting up an SMSF to fixing their home loan or saving for a deposit. Appointments can be made through the Yellow Brick Road website and consumers will be matched with their local Yellow Brick Road branch. All appointments will be facilitated by an accredited Wealth Manager.

“There are a lot of common myths and misconceptions about financial advice, especially around the cost of advice and its long term benefit,” says Yellow Brick Road Executive Chairman Mark Bouris. “We want to dispel those myths and give everyone a chance to talk to a professional about their personal situation.  That’s what ‘Ask My Advice’ Day is about. It’s a chance for the tradesman in the suburbs to talk to someone about making the right decisions for his business.  It’s for the new mum who wants to ensure she can retire properly and leave something for her children. It’s for the people who want help, but don’t know where to turn. They just want to make sure they are heading in the right direction. That’s where Yellow Brick Road comes in.”
