A restructure of Perpetual’s Australian equities team, under new chief investment officer Michael Gordon, will see deputy head of equities Charlie Lanchester leave the firm in October after 14 years.
Paul Skamvougeras, portfolio manager for the SHARE-PLUS Long-Short strategy, the Pure Equity Alpha strategy and the Concentrated Equity strategy, will replace Lanchester as deputy head of equities, while Nathan Parkin, portfolio manager for the Perpetual Ethical SRI Fund, will assume part of Lanchester’s responsibilities for the Industrial Share Fund.
Lanchester previously managed 70 per cent of the Industrial Share strategy, however, the fund will now be managed in equal portfolios by Parkin and Vince Pezzullo.
Perpetual’s head of equities Matt Williams, whose role is unchanged, described Lanchester as a “loyal friend and trusted colleague” in a press statement.
