Cycling towards a $100,000 goal

Day seven of the Future2 Wheel Classic gets underway today and so far the event has seen its efforts raise $65,000 of the $100,000 goal.

The next two days are set to test the cyclists when the route takes them over the mountains from Crookwell to Nowra.

Ray Griffin, a founding trustee of the Future2 Foundation, said in his blog post that the journey south is a great ride “but those damn headwinds will be back.”

“Very much looking forward to getting to Nowra on Wednesday where it’s forecast to be 22 degrees!”

Richard Klipin, chief executive of the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA), and John Kevin, financial planner at AMP Financial Planning, joined yesterday’s 103km leg from Orange to Cowra.

Employees of the event’s sponsors and supporters are able to cycle with Griffin and Bobbin for the home stretch when it ends at 3pm in Martin place this Friday, September 16.

The Lord Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, and family and friends will welcome the cyclists to Sydney.

All funds raised from the event will go towards supporting disadvantaged young Australians.
