Bennelong Australian Equity Partners chief investment officer Mark East

Bennelong Australian Equity Partners and Antipodes Partners lead the pack in the Australian and International equities categories of the 2018 Professional Planner | Zenith Fund Awards.

Bennelong won both the small- and large-cap Australian Equities categories in 2016 and is nominated again this year. The fund manager will be looking to bounce back after not taking either award last year. Meanwhile, Antipodes can repeat as winners of both the International Equities and International Equities (Alternative Strategies) categories.

Antipodes Partners also took out the coveted overall Fund Manager of the Year Award in 2017.

The annual awards ceremony, to be held this year at the Ivy Ballroom in Sydney on Friday, October 5, celebrates quality in funds management across 19 categories, including Distributer of the Year and Fund Manager of the Year.

The finalists for the 2018 Distributor of the Year – which recognises excellence in marketing, sales and distribution – will be announced next month. Finalists, and the winner, for Fund Manager of the Year will be announced on the day of the awards.

Today, Professional Planner unveils finalists for the first nine categories (see table below).

Tomorrow, July 24, Professional Planner will announce the finalists in these categories:

  • Australian real-estate investment trust
  • Global real-estate investment trust
