BT has been recognised as Australia’s best life insurance company by customers.

BT received eight accolades at the inaugural Association of Financial Advisers and Beddoes Institute Consumer Choice Awards this week in the following categories:

• Best Total Customer Experience
• Most Recommended Company
• Most Trusted Brand
• Best Claims Staff
• Honouring Commitments
• Return to Health and Wellness
• Best Application Process
• Best Turnaround Time

Phil Hay, head of life insurance at BT, said our sole priority is to support customers with help and compassion at their time of need, so we’re pleased that this is resonating.

“Industry-wide research into consumer perceptions – such as the studies that Beddoes conducts – is incredibly useful for the life insurance industry so we can continue to improve customers’ experience. As an industry, it’s important for us to constantly learn and strive to do better for policyholders and claimants,” Mr Hay added.

The awards are the first consumer-led awards in the industry, with criteria based on what life insurance customers say is most important to them. The criteria are identified by the Beddoes Institute’s 2016 Policyholder Perceptions Study and Claimant Journey Study. Around 1200 advised customers participated in the research.
