The MBA Partnership, a leading Gold Coast accounting firm and an affiliated business of Bentleys, has today announced a merger with DFK Crosbie Gold Coast. The move will further establish MBA Partnership in the region, and will position it as one of the largest accounting firm on the Gold Coast and Tweed regions.

Speaking about the merger, Michael Beddoes, Director at The MBA Partnership, said the decision to merge was based on the opportunity for the business to expand its expertise and breadth of in-house advisory on offer to clients.

“This merger allows us to offer an increased service offering, particularly in terms of the services we can offer to management rights and SMSF clients. As people look to build wealth or to start to wind down towards retirement, our service offerings through SMSFs and advisory services can help them secure the future they want.

Speaking about the benefit of the expansion to local clients, Mr Beddoes said: “We are a Gold Coast born and bred business and we know the industries that tend to work well here. With this knowledge we are able to better spot trends and to offer advice for local clients.

“At the same time, we have the support of a national network through Bentleys which gives us that broader view and access to opportunities for our clients. Bentleys is a well-recognised brand in the Australian accounting space and clients like knowing they have local experts within a wider network of experts who can also be called on.”

Mark Chapman, Chief Executive Officer of Bentleys praised the most recent strategic move of The MBA Partnership, and noted that MBA is a valuable affiliated firm representing Bentleys on the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads.

“We wholeheartedly support this expansion as it is both beneficial to The MBA Partnership and their clients, as well as to the wider Bentleys network. Since our partnership was solidified in April this year, The MBA Partnership has been working closely with other Bentleys offices in the network for referrals and support – demonstrating the true value of a network. By leveraging this network, it allows them to grow their service offering, providing clients with an enhanced experience,” Mr Chapman said.

The merger with DFK Crosbie Gold Coast will see 13 additional staff join The MBA Partnership, with specific advisory expertise, including in wealth management and SMSFs.

We are always looking for the opportunity to grow through partnerships with like-minded firms. We have completed three acquisitions in the last 12 months – each of which added something to our offering for clients. Ultimately, our growth plans are not driven by a desire to be the biggest, but to be the best,” Mr Beddoes said.

The MBA Partnership now has 65 staff, with offices on the Gold Coast and Tweed Heads.
