For the fifth consecutive year, Zenith Investment Partners has awarded a Highly Recommended rating to both the Bennelong Australian Equities Fund (Bennelong Core Fund) and the Bennelong Concentrated Australian Equities Fund (Bennelong Concentrated Fund), both of which are managed by Bennelong Australian Equity Partners (BAEP).
BAEP is a boutique fund manager focused on investing Australian listed equities. The business was founded in 2008 by Mark East in partnership with Bennelong Funds Management. It is now established as an award-winning team, managing funds on behalf of retail and institutional clients, as well as on a pro bono basis for charitable organisations.
The Bennelong Core Fund aims to provide investors with a diversified Australian share portfolio consisting of high quality companies within the S&P/ASX 300 Index and beyond. The Concentrated Fund has a similar strategy and typically holds approximately 25 stocks.
Zenith believes the Funds are both “appealing offerings owing to their strong investment team and performance driven culture”.
BAEP manages four funds in total, all of which have this year been rated Highly Recommended by Zenith. In addition to the Bennelong Core and Bennelong Concentrated Funds, BAEP manages two funds that actively invest outside the ASX 20.
The Bennelong ex-20 Australian Equities Fund (Bennelong ex-20 Fund) was a market first and has been a popular choice with advisers. The ex-20 Fund invests in companies that lie outside the ASX 20, providing genuine diversification and greater exposure to some of the most compelling opportunities in the market. The Fund has retained its Highly Recommended ratings since 2011.
The team’s newest fund, the Bennelong Twenty20 Australian Equities Fund, combines an indexed position in the ASX 20 with active management of stocks outside the top 20. The combination of active and passive ensures a low-cost offering that retains the ability to outperform.
