Magellan Financial Group (‘Magellan’) is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Mentzines as Senior Portfolio Manager in its Global Infrastructure Team, based in Sydney.
Stephen joins Magellan after a long career in infrastructure, principally as a fund, investment and asset manager, but also within infrastructure businesses themselves, including most recently as Chief Financial Officer at ASX-listed Sydney Airport (SYD).
Previously, he was at Macquarie Group for over a decade, most recently as Head of North American Infrastructure and Real Assets and previously Global Chief Operating Officer for the Infrastructure & Real Assets division.
Announcing the appointment, Gerald Stack, Magellan’s Head of Infrastructure, said: “The growth in our infrastructure business has been very encouraging and we are delighted with the opportunity to add Stephen to our team. Stephen’s considerable level of infrastructure, operational and financial experience brings additional and unique insight that will broaden and deepen our skill base, as we seek to continue enhancing our ability to deliver superior outcomes for investors.”
The Magellan Infrastructure Team consists of six investment professionals located in Sydney and New York, supported by macroeconomic and trading resources in Sydney. The Infrastructure Team manages over A$5.6 billion in global listed infrastructure assets for retail and institutional clients, as at 31 July 2015.
