The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) has announced registrations are now
open for the 2017 FPA Professionals Congress, to be held in Hobart from 22-24 November.
Amid the spectacular scenery of Tasmania, this year’s Congress promises to be both inspiring
and challenging for all involved, providing the opportunity for FPA members and the wider
financial planning community to develop both personally and professionally.
FPA CEO Dante De Gori, CFP®, said the 2017 Congress will build on the success of last year’s
event which received overwhelmingly positive feedback. “2016 saw over 1,000 delegates
attending Congress in Perth, with a sold out Future2 dinner and record attendance at the
Women in Financial Planning breakfast.
“At a time of such rapid change for financial planning, it’s important for each of us to take stock,
get a fresh perspective, and keep ahead of the game. The FPA Congress is about bringing our
profession together, to share our vision and ideas and continue to grow the professional
standing of financial planners.
The FPA Professionals Congress program will offer up to 14 CPD hours across a broad range
of keynote sessions and workshops featuring Australian and international speakers covering
technical topics, disruption, best practice solutions, leadership and personal development skills.
Registrations are also open for the annual Future2 Wheel Classic endurance cycle ride and
three new hiking challenges, offering different grades to suit all abilities. The events will raise
funds to bring new opportunity and hope to socially and financially disadvantaged young
Australians through its Make the Difference! grants program.
Dante De Gori added, “Tasmania is a great place to discover and explore and we’re excited to
be bringing the Congress to Hobart. The Wheel Classic and new hiking challenges also enable
delegates to take advantage of the stunning, heritage-listed wilderness of Tasmania.”
Delegates are encouraged to book early for Hobart, to benefit from financial year tax savings,
and an early bird rate that provides a saving of $150 off the Conference registration fee.
Delegates are also encouraged to book flights and accommodation in Hobart as far in advance
as possible, to secure their first choice.
