CFA Institute (CFA®) has announced the launch of the Asia-Pacific Research Exchange (ARX), a new open-access hub and community by and for finance professionals looking for research on investment practices in Asia Pacific.
The site has been in beta-testing for more than a year and is now home to more than 2,500 articles and research papers.
ARX is open to:
 Global and regional investment professionals looking for Asia-Pacific finance and investment management trends or to learn more about Asia-Pacific financial markets
 Practitioners who want to raise their profile as industry experts
 Academics seeking to share theories and receive feedback from practitioners
 Governments and regulators looking for insight into what makes capital markets function best
 Journalists seeking credible sources and commentary for news and stories
Mr Anthony Serhan, CFA, President CFA Society Sydney and Managing Director, Research Strategy, Asia-Pacific at Morningstar, said while ARX had been conceived to serve CFA® members, momentum and interest in the platform had accelerated well beyond initial expectations.
“This initiative will also support our advocacy efforts through greater education, awareness and transparency in capital markets and finance in 25 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific region.”
In addition to industry practitioners and academics, more than 30 regional organizations are publishing research on ARX, including S&P Global Market Intelligence, Morningstar, MSCI Research, Asian Corporate Governance Association, BOCOM International Holdings Company, and Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance. The Tokyo-based Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), a leading think tank that conducts research and analysis on emerging policy topics with a focus on issues of strategic importance to the region in the areas of banking, economics, finance, and investment analysis through Think-Asia is also a contributor.
Past CFA Society Sydney President, Dr. Brindha Gunasingham, CFA, Managing Director and Founder of FitzBiz Investment Analysis & Strategy, and a representative of the ARX in Australia, said it ARX was a great initiative that would bridge the gap between robust academic research and key practitioner insight and investment practices.
“The platform provides a mechanism for debate, sharing and collaboration; continuously increasing knowledge and education across the Asia Pacific investment industry. Ultimately, this benefits investors by helping industry participants and our members achieve suitable investment outcomes,” she said.
