The Association of Financial Advisers (AFA) has today announced that over 20 advisers will be presenting at this year’s AFA National Adviser Conference.

AFA CEO Brad Fox said this really highlights the professional collegiate atmosphere the AFA has proudly maintained throughout its 68-year history, with advisers sharing their own expertise openly and providing a practitioner lens for the practical application of knowledge.

“Showcasing our adviser members at our biggest Community of Practice event of the year really exemplifies the peer-to-peer knowledge sharing nature of the AFA,” he said. “We are also presenting an international advice perspective from David Braithwaite of Citrus Financial in the United Kingdom.”

The AFA has confirmed a number of other expert speakers for the conference as well to present on a variety of issues relating to this year’s theme ‘Connecting Knowledge with Performance’.

“We are very conscious that advisers are busier than ever this year with many new compliance tasks adding to time demands. So, in coming up with the conference agenda we have sought to maximize the value for advisers. Across the program each delegate will attend a minimum of 17 valuable sessions with the opportunity to focus their time on the areas most relevant to them. 16 CPD points will also be awarded.”

“We have taken a deep look at what we believe it will take to thrive in the new age of financial advice,” Mr Fox said. “Our conference sessions will highlight those attributes we’ve identified and provide our members with the knowledge to make powerful decisions in regards to their own business models, best practice, and best advice.”

As an example, the opening dinner keynote speaker is Founding Director of Clever Happenings Dr Jason Fox, a motivation strategy and design expert, who will educate delegates on how to influence culture, make clever strategy happen and how to prepare as an adviser for the future.

The AFA 2015 National Adviser Conference will be held at the Cairns Convention Centre from 25-27 October 2015. Delegate registrations are available at www.afaconference.com.au
