Graham Rich
Graham is a pioneer of retail managed funds research in Australasia, and of financial planning in New Zealand. His career has focused on contributing to the financial wellbeing of Australians and New Zealanders.
Graham established Portfolio Construction Forum in 2002. It is recognised as the leading provider of is specialist, independent, investment continuing education, accreditation and certification service for investment and wealth management professionals. The Forum is also CIMA Society of Australia’s strategic partner in the management and delivery of the advanced credential, Certified Investment Management Analyst®. After serving for seven years as a Director of CIMA Society’s predecessor (IMCA), in 2017, Graham assumed the role of Executive Officer (pro bono), and the Forum assumed management of the Secretariat.
Graham started his financial services career in NZ in 1975. In 1983, he established his own business delivering the first funds research in Australia and NZ, and training and education services for financial advisers in NZ. In 1999, Morningstar became a minority shareholder of his funds research business, before acquiring it in full some years later.
In 2012, Graham received the Financial Advice New Zealand “Outstanding Contribution Award”, having already been made a life member of the association which he founded in 1986. In 2022, he received both the Zenith Investment Research “Outstanding Contribution Award” and the Financial Newswire “Lifetime Achievement Award”. In October 2022, Graham retired as a Board Member of The Wayside Chapel after serving nine years on the Board, including the last term as Chair.
