Angus Woods
Woods established Adviser Ratings in 2014, originally as a ratings and review business on advisers, but is now an information and knowledge business, helping the wealth sector drive decision making through data and technology. The business also owns portfolio construction tool, ProductRex and life insurance data business, Beddoes.
Woods has a 20 year career working in financial services. He was a founding member of One Big Switch, which partially sold to News Limited and prior to that was CFO of Virgin Money, strategy and M&A at Wizard Home Loans and commercial analyst at Macquarie Bank.
He has a passion for solving industry problems. Having helped found ADCCA (now Blockchain Australia), he led industry and government negotiations on the successful repealing of GST laws on digital currencies. This culminated in a speaking tour to the United States with the Senate Economics Committee around how government and industry can work together to achieve better business and consumer outcomes through working more collaboratively.
Woods holds an undergraduate degree in Business, a Certified Practising Accountant designation and was top student at UTS for the Graduate Diploma in Accounting, with a focus on statistics.
When not dabbling in data, he is a proud dad to two boys and a forlorn supporter of the Parramatta Eels.
