The Financial Planning Association of Australia (FPA) re-elected both the chair and deputy chair to second terms at its recent board elections.

Julie Berry, who is managing director of Berry Stacks Financial Services and has been a director of the FPA since 2003, was re-elected as chair of the association.

Mark Spiers, the chief executive of Westpac Financial Planning and chair of the FPA legislation and regulation committee for the past five years, retains his position of deputy chair.

In a recent ballot, FPA members elected Andrew Waddell, general manager, Axa financial advice network, to represent large principal members (with 20 or more authorised representatives). Louise Lakomy, principal investment advice at Yellow Brick Road Investment Services, was elected unopposed, representing small principal members (with less than 20 authorised representatives).

The new board takes effect November 21.
